PSC Assistant Recruitment Exam

The Assistant exam is held in direct recruitment mode, wherein candidates must perform one-time registration on the official website of Kerala PSC. Two key assistant-cadre posts are the Secretariat Assistant and the University Assistant.

The post of University Assistant is a contractual position wherein selected candidates are employed in administrative and other non-teaching capacities, restricted to a maximum of 19 hours of employment per week. The Secretariat Assistant, on the other hand, performs a similar role in a state or departmental secretariat office.

Written / OMR / Online test may also be conducted basis the number of applicants, vis-a-vis the number of vacancies. Interviews may also take place if need be.  A total of 100 questions are asked in the written exam, and carry a maximum of 100 marks. The exam duration is 1.25 hours and every wrong answer invites 1/3rd negative marking. Subjects covered are Basic General Knowledge (Regional language Malayalam – 10 questions), Current Affairs (of Kerala and India – 50 questions), General English (20 questions), and Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning (20 questions). All sections are in English language, except for the Regional Language section.

Eligibility-wise, the candidates must have age in the range of 21-36 years as on the date of advertisement. Relaxations in upper age limit exist for reserved category candidates. A prior Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university or equivalent is essential to apply. Broadly, other graduate-cadre posts such as Company Board Corporation Assistant too fall on the same lines.

PSC Inspector Recruitment Exam Kerala

PSC Inspector Exam gets candidate entry into field-level and on-ground government jobs, giving them a hands-on exposure to the real-time commercial, industrial and other forms of economic activities happening in the state. As an inspector, you could expect yourself to check the quality of food items being sold, or ensuring tax compliance from local traders. PSC LDC Recruitment Exam Kerala State Govt.

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) exam Kerala  is one of the most popular and competitive recruitment tests conducted by Kerala PSC. LDCs perform day-to-day clerical tasks in various state departments, and form the execution lifeline of the state machinery. The LDC exam also covers the integrated posts of Secretariat Assistant and Village Assistant in some departments, or they are conducted on the same lines as the LDC exam Kerala.

The method of appointment is direct recruitment. Written / OMR / Online test may also be conducted basis the number of applicants, vis-a-vis the number of vacancies. The exam pattern comprises of 100 objective type questions to be attempted in 75 minutes, and covers the subjects of Quantitative Aptitude, General English, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, and Regional Language (Malayalam / Tamil / Kannada). All sections are in Malayalam language, except for General English and Regional Language (in case you choose Tamil or Kannada) sections.

In terms of eligibility, candidates must be 18-36 years old as on the date of advertisement. Relaxations in upper age limit exist for reserved category candidates. Education-wise, candidates must have passed matriculation / 10th / SSLC exam (and in some cases, intermediate / 10+2 exam) from a recognized board or university as on the date of advertisement.

PSC VEO Recruitment Exam Kerala

Village Extension Officer (VEO) exam is also a highly pursued recruitment opportunity extended by Kerala PSC. VEOs promote village development, gain in-depth understanding of the villagers' issues and co-ordinate with government agencies to address those concerns. The VEO exam also covers the integrated posts of Conductor (KSRTC), Civil Police Officer and Fireman / Firewomen in some departments, or they are conducted on the same lines as the VEO exam.

The VEO exam pattern consists of 100 MCQ-type questions to be attempted in 1.25 hours. It covers the subjects of Quantitative Aptitude, General English, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, and Regional Language (Malayalam / Tamil / Kannada). All sections are in Malayalam language, except for General English and Regional Language (in case you choose Tamil or Kannada) sections.

Eligibility-wise, candidates must be 18-36 years old as on the date of advertisement. Relaxations in upper age limit exist for reserved category candidates. Education-wise, candidates must have passed matriculation / 10th / SSLC exam (and in some cases, intermediate / 10+2 exam) from a recognized board or university with minimum aggregate marks of 40% as on the date of advertisement.
